Don't allow popular things to enslave you...

Losing weight is slowly becoming an important thing in the world. After having conducted preliminary interviews on weight loss, I discovered that most people are concerned about with losing weight or slimming. Even individuals who do not have too much of flesh on their bodies are concerned about losing weight.

Thelma Nyoni (not real name) aged 23 is one among those people who are are naturally small, but still feels she needs to work on your her weight. She has been on diet since last year. She has lost 10kgs from an already slender frame after becoming a vegetarian. Her parents and friends are concerned about her weight loss, but she insists that she is under stress at college due to pressure. She maintains that she is very strict and particular about her diet because she hates it when she is gaining weight as she feels it makes her look ugly.

She is among many women and men who feel being fat disgusts as society reckons. They are going to extremes of taking all measures to try look thin and look good. They are occupied with being thin over other important things.

My advice to all those who might be caught in this predicament is that don’t allow popular things to enslave you, just to look good or as current as the person next you. After all, trends come and go. Maybe it is not about what is deemed popular but what works best for you which I think should come from the inside.

Honestly, I doubt if being thin makes you look good; feeling and looking good should come from within not just the outside appearance.

Because losing weight is being popularised or rather deemed fashionable, that does not mean you have to blindly follow that or else you will end up as ignorant as fashion victims and slaves.
